"I just want to thank you personally for all the thoughtfulness & kindness you've shown to both Mum & myself, especially in the last weeks. I am so glad she was able to die in peace and dignity & much of this was down to you. It will seem strange to no longer visit you - but it has been wonderful to know that Mum was loved and cared for when I wasn't there. Thank you so much for helping me through such a sad and difficult time. I shall never forget your kindness."

"Thank you so much for all you have done to help Mum over the last months. I think you have been fantastic, so gentle & kind, especially during her last few weeks. Thank you for all the times you have sat with her when she was distressed or in pain. You have also made the last few weeks a lot easier for me - just a few kind words or a gentle touch or a cup of tea have made so much difference. I often arrived feeling very sad and upset, but left feeling much happier. Nothing has ever been too much trouble, however busy you were. A box of chocolates isn't nearly enough to say thank you, but I hope you'll enjoy your chocolate fix. Thank you so much for all you've done. Words really can't express my appreciation."

I want to thank all the staff at Oakside who I have met over the years, and you in particular Babs, for ensuring that Joy & George were so well cared for. We know they were both very happy with you, and it was reassuring to be able to walk in at any time and find them smiling and secure, often with a staff member sitting beside them or holding their hand."

My husband and I would like to express our thanks for the wonderful way all of the staff at Peasmarsh Place cared for our mother during the 4 years she lived at the home. She was extremely happy during this time. The staff always had a nice smile to greet you, a terrific manner; always willing to help; nothing too much trouble. It was wonderful to know that she was so well-cared for during her last years.
I would like to share an example of 'Best Practice' and excellent collaboration between our G.P. practice and local care home - Oakside in Northiam.
The home is committed to caring for their residents until the end of life. I have undertaken training sessions with the staff who are a pleasure to work with to support this outcome. Oakside has begun to develop advanced care plans with all residents to discuss their wishes in relation to resuscitation and have introduced a natural death section in to their end of life policy to meet the needs of residents and staff.
